A mother who is imagining her son on the basketball court and a child hero who is imagining himself chasing the ball and scoring goals like Messi on the football fields. Our child hero, who is still at the very beginning of his adolescence, is determined to fly like the wind on the fotball fields. The mother whispers in the ear of our physiotherapist friend; ‘Tell him that playing basketball is good for him. He listens to you, he loves you very much. Meanwhile, the team and our physiotherapist friend, who looks at our child hero's passes in the mirror in the physical therapy unit, smiles and tells him that he also can play basketball because he is tall, and that he can grow taller and be very successfull. “Then I'll try it!” our child hero says enthusiastically.
Our 13-year-old boy hero is actively interested in sports and spreads joy around him. However, they had a difficult time as a family because of the pain that occurred in his body and did not disappear for a long time. When these pains started to occur during training, things turned into a nightmare. Because his trainer said that it would be healthier for him to quit sports. The coach, who left unanswered the questions of the mother who was worried about her child, said that it was not right for a child who could not move comfortably during training due to pain, and left only one way for the family. Nightmare, on the other hand, ended as a result of finding the right course by chance and working with the right trainer. Because the coach, who listened to his athlete and his family, shared with the family that sport is essential for a healthy life and that quitting sport cannot be the key to a pain- free life. The family, who started researches in this direction, applied to our treatment center through an acquaintance who was satisfied with the treatment at the Mest Group physical therapy center.
Our child hero, who admitted to our physical therapy center, was diagnosed with kyphosis as a result of hospital controls and physical examination. The physical therapy adventure of our child hero, who was found to have neck pain due to kyphosis and to feel pain in his, began. Our child hero describes the session, which was both enjoyable and difficult, to relax the tense back muscles with the whole back massage; ‘When I first heard it, I thought kyphosis was fish. When the physiotherapist Ayşenur sister said yes, there is a huge kyphosis fish on your neck, I started laughing and realized that it was not a fish. I didn't know before that some places on my back were ticklish. That's why I couldn't help but laugh during the session. It was very difficult to massage me. I think they did it the hard way. My mother says so too.”. The mother of our child hero describes her experience as follows; ‘My son is a very loving, smiling child. But he doesn't like being touched. How nice when he was younger. However, he is still young, 13 years old, and he thinks he has grown too big. In our adolescence, it also happened to us. Anyway, even though we came to your center on recommendation, I had my fears. But I saw that a professional team, who knew how to approach and touch a 13-year-old boy who was heartbroken after saying goodbye to his beloved course and friends due to misdirection, was waiting for us here. Fortunately, our nightmarish days were short lived, and my son did not lose his cheerful personality. I can't thank everyone here enough.'
Our child hero, who was taught clinical pilates exercises and correct posture, confidently meets the balls on the field with his strengthened chest and back muscles. He continues his sports activities freely thanks to his pain reduced by neck exercises and teaching correct posture techniques in daily life. He also devotes some time to basketball. He also enjoys swimming, which is recommended to him because he is in the growing age. Shortly, our child hero's active participation in daily life was ensured to correct the existing health problems. At the point reached with 15 day program, we are happy that our understanding of happy mother, happy child, happy physical therapy center team has been realized once again. We meet with our child hero and his mother at regular intervals and follow the current situation with pleasure. What we like the most is that our child hero said, 'One day I will catch a kyphosis fish, you will see. Who is afraid of kyphosis!'
